Olbia Shipping’s roots stretch back to the 1950s, when the father and grandfather of today’s principals began work as ship agents and customs freight forwarders for the first vessels calling at the Port of Olbia.

In the decades following World War II, these calls became ever more frequent, and Olbia progressively grew into one of Italy’s principal ports.From the 1970s through the 1990s, the company’s founder managed the agency for the first roll-on/roll-off (Ro-Ro) cargo line between Sardinia and the Italian mainland—specifically between Olbia and Piombino. In subsequent years, our expertise strengthened as we became agents for leading Italian shipping lines operating passenger and freight services between Olbia, Genoa and Livorno.

With over 70 years of local presence—and beginning in the early 2000s, handling general-cargo vessels, cruise ships and yachts (including maxi-yachts over 70 m LOA)—Olbia Shipping today stands as a fully consolidated operator throughout Sardinia.
